Chandler will rededicate Desert Breeze Park June 30 to celebrate the completion of a major renovation of one of the city’s most-used recreation amenities. The renovation includes new lighting, furniture, shade structures and pathways around the lake. Also, the city installed new landscaping with additional trees and plans, and some turf areas were converted to decomposed granite. The $650,000 project was done by Edge Construction.
Desert Breeze also includes an urban fishing lake, large picnic armadas, a large playground, a water splash pad, railroad, various sports fields. The park is about 47 acres.
The public is welcome to attend the rededication ceremony, which is scheduled at 9 a.m. on June 30. It will include Mayor Jay Tibshraeny and the City Council.
The park is at 600 N. Desert Breeze Blvd., which is in the center of the square mile bounded by Chandler Boulevard, McClintock Drive, Ray Road and Rural Road.
