Saturday was a very special day for some families in Maricopa County.

It was National Adoption Day across the country on Saturday, and Maricopa County has had the largest adoption day in the nation for the past five years.

In Maricopa County alone, 350 children will officially become part of a family on this special day.

National Adoption Day also helps raise public awareness for all the children who are without families.

According to Kathryn Pidgeon of the Maricopa County National Adoption Day Foundation, “There are more than 13,000 children in the foster care system.”

Good for Maricopa County. There is nothing you can do more for a child then give them an opportunity in life by providing them with a loving parent. Sadly there are many more children. More sadly, Arizona pays for 50%+ of the child deliveries in the state each year for people who have abducated the responsibility of paying for the delivery of their new child and likely have brought them into the world without the means to financially care for them. This is a beautiful story of hope with so many children being adopted.
