You can help nourish elderly and disabled residents in Chandler and Gilbert by serving as a volunteer for the Chandler Christian Community Center’s meal delivery and food box referral program.
According to a news release, volunteers deliver lunchtime meals to those who are homebound, a service that helps community members maintain their independence. The program provides over 3,000 meals to the homebound per month, with volunteers delivering meals between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday through Friday from the center’s Gilbert location. If you’d like to volunteer, contact Pat at (480) 503-6058.
Volunteers are also needed to assist with completing food box referrals at the center’s Chandler location, where over 15,000 food boxes are provided each year to those facing food insecurity. If you’d like to help out, contact Wendy at (480) 963-1423, ext. 102.
