Chandler is holding a public meeting Thursday to share information about a project to widen Chandler Boulevard beneath the Loop 101 Price Freeway. The city and Nesbitt Contracting will discuss the $2.1 million project and answer questions at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Chandler Fashion Center Community Room, which is located off the mall’s food court.
The seven-month project will add a second left-turn lane for westbound and southbound traffic under the freeway. Also, it will add bicycle lanes and involve work to the retaining wall, landscaping, street lights and traffic signals.
About 90 percent of the project is funded by a federal Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality grant.
Access to businesses will be maintained through construction. Resident who want more information can call a 24-hour project hotline, (480) 898-4060, or visit www.ChandlerLoop101.com.
