Six students from the East Valley Yamaha Music School in Chandler will perform music they composed in a concert Sunday in Tempe.

Called the Yamaha Southern Regional Junior Original Concert, the event provides selected students with the opportunity to perform their original compositions before a live audience.

The lineup includes:

Timothy Bi, 10, with a NeoBaroque piece for solo piano titled "Traveling Through Time."

Gabriel Dotson, 15, with "Just Another Day," a swing piece for piano, bass and drums.

Gabrielle Dotson, 14, with a rag waltz for solo piano titled "Shadow Waltz."

Christian Nguyen, 12, with a work for marimba, cello and piano named "Dragon Keeper."

Karalyn Schubring, 10, with her duet for violin and piano, "Nature Suite."

Renata Vallecillo, 10, with her solo piano piece, "Unspoken Memories."

Three students from Yamaha Music Schools in California and Texas will also perform.

The concert is 4 p.m. Sunday at Katzin Hall in the Music Building at Arizona State University in Tempe. The address is 50 E. Gammage Parkway.
