The Chandler Fire Department is hosting a free open house 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 25 to help educate residents about water safety and preparing for an emergency. The event will be at Fire Station No. 6, 911 N. Jackson St., at the intersection of Ray and McQueen roads.
Chandler Fire personnel will provide station tours, demonstrate rescue and firefighting techniques, and give children hands-on instruction on how to get out of a smoke-filled environment at the Fire Safety House display.
Visitors can also learn about the crisis response volunteer program, senior volunteer program, fire cadet program, and Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT).
