Area nonprofit agencies have until Nov. 26 to apply for federal and city grant money through the City of Chandler.
Every year, the city’s community development division coordinates with Chandler’s housing and human services commission to allocate money to more than 50 nonprofit groups with a 501(c)3 designation. The funds are available through the city’s general funds and two federal government programs: the community development block grant and HOME Funds.
Priority for the Chandler money is for groups that serve youth, families in crisis, homeless, special populations and veterans. The priorities for the community development block grant are organizations that provide homeless services, fair housing initiatives, housing service for tenant-based rental assistance, public facilities improvements and emergency home repair.
The deadline is 4 p.m. on Nov. 26, and more information about the money is available by visiting chandleraz.gov.
