Longtime Chandler residents probably know something about city founder Dr. A.J. Chandler. But they may not know as much about architect Frank Lloyd Wright’s link to the city or the role the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company played in building the community.

The stories of these pioneers and other historical events will be on display over the next seven months on a series of banners that will be displayed around Chandler. Thirty banners in sets of five will be displayed as the city celebrates its centennial year.

The banners will rotate between Chandler’s four libraries through May 28. From May 29 through Nov. 2, the banners will be displayed on a rotational schedule in the Chandler-Gilbert Community College library.

The banners can be loaned to schools or other organizations. For information, call (480) 782-2847. For more information on Chandler centennial events, go to www.chandler100th.com.
