The Chandler Chuck Wagon Cook-Off, named one of the best such events by American Cowboy Magazine, is seeking vendors for this year's cook-off Nov. 11-12 at Tumbleweed Ranch.

According to a city news release, the Chuck Wagon Cook-Off has "a bit of the 1880s Old West lifestyle" and is expected to draw seven to 10 wagon teams from across the western United States. During the old-fashioned culinary competition, the teams prepare their food from authentic chuck wagons, using cooking methods and utensils in the style of 1880s cattle drives.

Meals will be able for the public to purchase. The event also features stage entertainment, family activities, and shopping.

As coordinator of the event, the Chandler Museum is seeking a variety of vendors for food, merchandise, entertainment and nonprofit information. Sponsorships are also available. Vender applications and sponsorship details are available at www.chandleraz.gov/chuckwagon or by calling (480) 782-2874. The deadline to submit a vendor application is Sept. 9.
