Chandler resident and Corona del Sol High School Class of 2013 graduate Katie Wilkinson will compete against 49 other women from across the country at the 56th Distinguished Young Women National Finals.

Held in Mobile, Ala. From June 27 through 29, the event features 50 representatives from a multitude of states who compete to become the Distinguished Young Woman of America for 2013 and for a share of more than $100,000 in cash scholarships. Contestants are judged based on five categories: scholastics, interview, fitness, talent and self-expression.

The winner will represent the organization at events across the country and by promoting its outreach program, called “Be your Best Self.”
