Mayor Jay Tibshraeny will kick off Chandler's second Traditional Neighborhood Academy next month to help residents of non-HOA communities develop organizational and leadership skills, according to a news release.

Residents can register for the free series of six weekly classes by calling the Neighborhood Programs Office at (480) 782-4320. Applications can be downloaded at www.chandleraz.gov/neighborhoods and faxed to (480) 782-4350.

The academy will be 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on consecutive Wednesdays beginning Sept. 7 and running through Oct. 12 in Training Rooms A&B at Chandler City Hall, 175 S. Arizona Ave.

Classes will cover leadership styles, effective communication skills, neighborhood structure, strategic planning, and how to access city resources.
