The Chandler Chamber Community Foundation is seeking candidates for its leadership training program, The Chandler Leadership Institute. The institute’s criteria for applicants is that they have a desire to serve the community, leadership potential and a willingness to commit to the program. The institute includes a monthly class on Chandler issues including public safety, education, government, health, media, infrastructure and the environment. Experts in each of these areas will meet with the class, and participants will work on a hands-on class project that benefits a Chandler-based organization.

The program began in 1984 and has graduated more than 600 people, including community leaders in politics, business, education and the heath industry.

The program begins on Jan. 20 and runs through October, followed by a graduation ceremony. After graduation, class members become part of the steering committee that plans the next class program.

Applications are available on line at www.chandlerchamber.com or by calling the Chandler Chamber of Commerce at (480) 963-4571. Applications are due Dec. 15.
