The Boys & Girls Clubs of the East Valley is helping more families this year to start the holiday season on a high note. The organization served 4,128 Thanksgiving meals to families in the communities it serves at nine branches Nov. 16-23. That's 128 more than last year.
Club members and their families, as well as others in the community, took advantage of the opportunity to mingle with their neighbors, learn more about the clubs and enjoy live music and inspirational guest speakers. Thunderbirds Branch-Guadalupe provided 1,050 meals, dozens more than were served last year, while Compadre Branch-Chandler dished out 933 meals.
