Mesa is holding several public meetings to outline the redistricting process for its six council districts. The redistricting is required every 10 years to even out population in each district based on the most recent U.S. Census information. The meetings are:

• District 5 - 6 p.m. Aug. 10, Red Mountain Multi-Generational Center, 7550 E. Adobe St.

• District 2 - 6 p.m. Aug. 11, Fire Station 206, 2830 E. Adobe St.

• District 6 - 6 p.m. Aug. 16, Country Inn and Suites, 6650 E. Superstition Springs Blvd.

• District 3 - 6 p.m. Aug. 17, Dobson Ranch Library, 2425 S. Dobson Road.

• District 1 - 6 p.m. Aug. 18, Kino Junior High Cafeteria, 848 N. Horne.

• District 4 - 10 a.m. Aug 20, Mesa Junior High Library, 828 E. Broadway Road.

Mesa residents can see redistricting options at www.mesaaz.gov, under "Redistricting 2011." At the website, residents can draw and offer plans of their own that can be submitted for consideration.
