Did you know that more than 135 species of birds have been sighted at Chandler's Veterans Oasis Park? In fact, the 113-acre park and Chandler's Environmental Education Center were granted the distinction of Bird Habitat Recognition in April by the Desert Rivers Audubon chapter of the National Audubon Society.

The park's recharge basins, riparian areas, lake and native vegetation attract a huge variety of birds, from warblers and sandpipers to owls and woodpeckers. So grab your binoculars, stop by the Environmental Education Center for a bird list, and then see how many you can spot.
