City to recognize builders of ‘better Mesa’

Mesa is seeking nominations for the Mayor's Award for Building a Better Mesa, which recognizes residents and businesses who contribute to the community.

Mayor Scott Smith is looking for nominations in the categories of public safety, economic development, community pride, regional leadership, civic engagement, and the subject of architecture, design, redevelopment and revitalization. Also, there is a special category for outstanding youth.

All city residents and businesses are eligible for nominations, which can be submitted at http://mesaaz.gov/mayor/award.aspx. Nominations can be sent to kathy.macdonald@mesaaz.gov or to Kathy Macdonald, Chief of Staff, P.O. Box 1466, Mesa, Arizona 85211-1466. The deadline is Dec. 15.

Recipients will be announced at a special event in early 2012. For more information, call (480) 644-3002.
