It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas in Queen Creek. The town will host two Christmas celebrations this weekend to celebrate the season.
First up is Queen Creek's Hometown Christmas on Friday night at the Queen Creek Library.
The event will feature visits with Santa Claus, rides for kids, live entertainment from country band Slade and other local groups, and a Christmas carol singalong, said Erica Perez, who works in the town's Parks and Recreation Department.
Saturday will bring the Queen Creek Holiday Parade and Festival.
This year's parade will feature 46 entries and KMLE (107.9 FM) radio personality Dave Pratt serving as the grand marshall, said parade committee chairman Chris Clark.
"(Pratt is) always a big draw," Clark said. "He has a lot of support in Queen Creek."
The parade route ends at Desert Mountain Park, where a festival awaits.
Local groups will provide free entertainment starting at 12:30 p.m.
Visitors can also enjoy a rock-climbing wall, 42-foot bouncy obstacle course, a petting zoo and other attractions, Clark said.
