A forecast for gusty winds has prompted a high pollution advisory for Tuesday.
Winds up to 44 mph are predicted at 5000 feet. The National Weather Service has issue a high wind advisory beginning 11 a.m. Tuesday for all counties between El Centro, Calif., and Phoenix. This may lead to blowing dust and sand.
The Department of Environmental Quality issues a high pollution advisory when coarse particle matter (PM-10) may exceed federal standards.
People with existing respiratory conditions, older adults and young children should limit time outdoors.
Elevated PM-10 levels may continue into Wednesday.
