Authorities say a northeastern Arizona man has been arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of his cousin in Tempe.

Tempe police say 20-year-old Cody Lydell Hasgood, of Pinion, has been booked into jail on suspicion of second-degree murder.

Detectives say Hasgood and his 21-year-old cousin, Lane Yazzie, were intoxicated Thursday night and fought at the Tempe apartment complex where Yazzie lived.

During the altercation, Hasgood allegedly stabbed Yazzie in the upper body.

Tempe firefighters treated Yazzie and transported him to a hospital, where he later died.

Police didn't immediately know Friday whether Hasgood has a lawyer for his case.
