Verizon Wireless said Wednesday it will introduce the new Droid smart cellphone by Motorola on Nov. 6.
The phone is the first to operate with the Android 2.0 software by Google, which offers high-speed Web browsing, voice-activated search and thousands of Android applications, among other features, Verizon Wireless said.
Among the pre-loaded applications on the phone are Google Maps, Gmail, YouTube videos and Amazon MP3 music store.
The phone will retail for $200 with a two-year customer agreement after a $100 mail-in rebate. It will be available at Verizon Wireless Communications stores and online at www.verizonwireless.com.
