Thin, high clouds continue to drift across the Valley and state as a disturbance pushes through today.

Despite this morning's cool start, we're headed toward another warm day in the Valley with temperatures topping out in the upper 70s. This will put us about 6 to 8 degrees above the 70 degree average for this time of year.

Occasional clouds are possible, especially through the afternoon in the Valley as a disturbance moves through. Don't count on any rain though with the Valley set to stay dry today.

It'll be a different story in the high country though as a few showers (20 percent chance) are possible this afternoon with this passing cold front. There's even a shot for light snow showers in areas above 7,000 feet. No accumulation is expected but you could encounter some slick driving conditions.

Then the heat really kicks in as high pressure strengthens over the area. In the Valley we'll go from upper 70s on Tuesday into the 80s for the second half of the week. By Friday we'll bump up into the upper 80s. This means we'll challenge the record high for that day that currently stands at 85 degrees set all the way back in 1957!

This also means our Valley high temperatures will be at least 10 degrees above normal by the end of the week, making it feel more like mid-April than mid-February.

These warm, mid-to-upper 80-degree temperatures stick around into next weekend.

Overnight lows also get milder going from the upper 40s to start the week to the low 50s by the end of the week.

Here's a few days to watch this week:

Friday forecasted high - 85, Record for the day from 1957- 85

Saturday forecasted high - 86, Record for the day from 1977- 83

Sunday forecasted high- 85, Record for the day from 1977- 84

Unfortunately, no rain in sight through the extended forecast.
