The brother of convicted serial shooter and murderer Dale Hausner now is facing more prison time.

Jeff Hausner, 42, who officials say sometimes participated in what Dale Hausner and his shooting partner Samuel Dietman called “recreational violence,” three years ago, was found guilty of attempted first-degree murder and aggravated assault in Maricopa County Superior Court on Thursday in connection with a 2006 stabbing of a Phoenix man, according to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office. The man survived the attack.

The verdict against Jeff Hausner, who is serving a 7 1/2-year prison sentence for aggravated assault in an unrelated matter, concluded a one-week trial.

Dale Hausner was convicted on March 13 of killing six people and attacking 19 others in random nighttime shootings in the Valley in 2005 and 2006 and was sentenced to six death sentences on March 27.

Jeff Hausner will be sentenced on June 15 before Judge Roland Steinle.
