With a possible work stoppage looming for Monday, July 1, Valley Metro is warning East Valley bus riders to be prepared to make alternative travel plans.

Valley Metro said all bus service in Chandler, Gilbert, Mesa and Tempe would be affected. There are routes traveling into Phoenix and Scottsdale that would also be affected if a strike occurs.

Passengers are warned that they should begin to consider alternate transportation to get to work, school and appointments.

The routes in the East Valley impacted would be FLASH, MERCURY, VENUS, EARTH, MARS, JUPITER, BUZZ, LINK—Main St., LINK—Arizona Ave., 30, 40, 45, 48, 56, 61, 62, 65, 66, 72, 77, 81, 96, 104, 108, 112, 120, 128, 136, 156, 184, 511, 514, 520, 521, 522, 531, 533, 535, 541 and 542.

The routes that enter Phoenix that could be impacted include 30, 45, 56, 61, 72, 77, 514, 520, 521, 522, 531, 533, 535, 541, 542.

Valley Metro said if a strike occurs contingency bus service is not available and passengers should consider buying All-Day passes rather than multi-day passes.
