Gilbert police are searching for a woman who made almost 50 purchases in June using a forged credit card in the East Valley and other Arizona towns.

According to Sgt. Mark Marino, Gilbert public information officer, the woman was using the name of a Norwell, Mass., woman.

The Massachusetts woman discovered the fraud when a collection agency called her on Sept. 29. She ran a credit check and found that her address had been changed to one in Gilbert.

The suspect’s smiling face was captured on store surveillance videos during her shopping spree in Gilbert, Mesa, Apache Junction, Prescott Valley and Mayer from June 11-23. She is a heavy-set white woman with blond or light brown hair.

Anyone with information can call Silent Witness (480) 948-6377 at the Gilbert Police Department at (480) 503-6500.
