Eleven months after burning to the ground, a new McDonald's restaurant will reopen Friday at 2838 W. Apache Trail, Apache Junction.
A.J. Fire Chief Dan Campbell and fire department members will cut the ribbon to officially reopen the restaurant at 11 a.m. Friday.
The new, enlarged interior features a contemporary decor while metal and glass materials give the exterior a modern look that departs from the traditional double mansard roof building that has been McDonald's' trademark.
The drive-through has a side-by-side two-lane ordering system that will speed up filling of orders.
In addition to Friday's ribbon-cutting ceremony, the Apache Junction McDonald's plans a Ronald McDonald Show and raffle prizes from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 28.
