Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu says a six-month investigation into alleged misconduct by the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office has been completed. However, Babeu says his office is prohibited by law from releasing any details of the probe.
Babeu was asked last September to investigate allegations against Maricopa County Sheriff's Chief Deputy David Hendershott, Deputy Chief Larry Black and Capt. Joel Fox.
A longtime member of Arpaio's command staff wrote a 63-page memo last year with allegations of years of misconduct by Hendershott, Black and Fox — some of which could be criminal.
Babeu says he had a four-hour meeting Wednesday with Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio and turned over the 1,022-page investigative report.
He says Arapio now needs to digest the reports and make his own determination regarding his recommendations.
