A Blowing Dust Advisory is in effect for the entire Phoenix metro until 9 pm. Parts of the west Valley are under this advisory until 10 pm. Watch for areas of blowing dust that could reduce visibility to as low as one mile.

Pinal county is also under this blowing dust advisory.

Excessive Heat Warnings are in effect for Maricopa county including the entire Phoenix metro, and Pinal county until 5 a.m. Sunday. Valley temperatures have already broken records reaching 114 degrees this afternoon at Sky Harbor. We won't see much relief from the heat overnight with lows only forecast to fall into the mid to upper 80s.

Storms ramped up around the state this afternoon, especially across northern Arizona. Storms across the northern half of our state are moving very slowly and could produce very heavy, flooding rain. Some of the stronger storms could also produce hail and strong, gusty winds.

Storms also continue just south of the Valley in Pinal county. These storms could also produce brief heavy rain and gusty outflow winds along with hail.

Scattered storms could still develop across the Valley into early tonight.

Be prepared for rapidly changing weather conditions as we head into the late afternoon and evening both in the Valley and across the state.

Scattered storm chances will linger into early tonight across the state and the Valley before things quiet down for Sunday morning.

However, the monsoon will just ramp up again Sunday. We have plenty of moisture in place across the state as an area of high pressure shifts just slightly to the east moving over the Arizona/New Mexico border. This will allow for moisture to continue to stream in from the south. We'll also see several disturbances track across the state Sunday which will enhance our chances for storms especially by the afternoon and evening.

Sunday's temperatures will still be hot, topping out right around 110 across the Valley.

As we head into the work week we'll keep monsoon moisture in place through at least next Saturday. This will keep at least a slight chance for afternoon storms across the state and possibly even the Valley each day.

High temperatures will remain hot, only falling a few degrees with highs between 105 and 109 expected through the week. Overnight lows will fall into the upper 70s to mid 80s.
