A burglar who tried to cover his tracks ended up giving police a major clue.

On Sunday morning, two burglars, who covered their faces with bandanas, jumped the fence into the backyard of a Mesa home near Country Club Drive and University Drive.

One burglar entered a shed while the other stood as the “lookout.”

After bagging a few power tools, the thief moved a surveillance camera that was pointed directly at him.

What the man did next probably gave police the best lead in trying to locate the criminal: He accidentally showed his face.

The burglar then lowered the bandana once the camera lens was facing the wall. Then, forgetting the bandana was off, he moved the camera a second time revealing his face.

It is estimated the burglars swiped about $1,000 worth of property.
