A Jeep with three people inside flipped into a canal in Chandler Thursday.
Detective David Ramer, Chandler police spokesman, said the driver and two passengers were extricated from the vehicle and taken to the hospital.
Ramer said investigators initially believed the worst injury was a broken wrist, but they learned later some of the passengers had more significant injuries.
Ramer said the Jeep was westbound at 1:09 a.m. on Chandler Heights Road when it went out of control and flipped into the water.
He said investigators believe alcohol was a factor and they impounded the vehicle because it was believed to be stolen.
