Gilbert's newest school finally has a name. Ridding the building of its impersonal title as “elementary 28,” the Gilbert Unified School District board officially approved Quartz Hill Elementary School’s name at a meeting Tuesday.

The school will open in the fall at 3860 S. Quartz St. in Gilbert and will relieve crowding at Spectrum Elementary School.

The board also approved new principals for the 2007-08 school year.

Korry Brenner was named principal of Canyon Rim Elementary, where she is currently the dean of students.

Debbie Singleton was named principal of Spectrum Elementary, where she is currently the dean of students.

Patty Rogers was named principal of Superstition Springs Elementary. Rogers is currently dean of Mesquite High School.
