Eleven people were hospitalized early Thursday after a construction accident at the new Sky Harbor Rental Car Center at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. None of the injuries is life-threatening.

The accident occurred on a rampway that will one day lead buses to a customer service site, said airport spokeswoman Deborah Ostreicher.

"They were pouring cement, and something collapsed — perhaps some scaffolding or support materials, we're not sure yet," Ostreicher said.

It's unknown if the incident is weather-related, but the site will remain closed over the weekend while the Occupational Health and Safety Administration and project team members investigate the accident, Ostreicher said.
