Police are continuing to investigate the drowning of a woman whose body was discovered in the swimming pool of the family home on Monday.

The woman, who was identified as Gracey Hawley, 54, was discovered by her husband in the pool at the residence in the 6300 block of West Linda Drive about 5 p.m., moments before he called 911, according to police.

Emergency crews responded to the home near Kyrene and Ray roads and performed CPR on Hawley. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The drowning is not believed to be suspicious at this time and it is not known if Hawley suffered some kind of medical condition that caused the drowning, according to Detective Seth Tyler, a Chandler police spokesman.

If the pool isn't heated, I'd have a hard time believing that a woman of that age would want to take a dip this early in the season.
