Wells Fargo Bank has increased to $15,000 the reward it is offering for information leading to the arrest of a bank robber dubbed the “Black Binder Bandit.”
The robber, who earned the nickname because he carries a black binder or black bag into the banks with a black and silver handgun inside of it when approaching tellers demanding cash, is believed to have committed at least 11 bank robberies at branches of Wells Fargo and Bank of America throughout the East Valley between Sept. 2, 2010, and this past Tuesday.
He was last caught on surveillance video robbing a branch of Wells Fargo about 12:22 p.m. at 8991 E. Mountain View Road, Scottsdale, after he is believed to have last committed a robbery at a branch of Wells Fargo at 10325 E. Riggs Road in Sun Lakes on June 10. If anyone has any information, they can call the FBI at (602) 279-5511.
