The City of Chandler’s Solid Waste Services Division will offer two workshops devoted to backyard composting later this month.

The free workshops will provide attendees ranging from first timers to seasoned gardeners a variety of composting methods and information about home uses for home-grown compost. Composting organic material like leaves, grass clippings and the remains of fruits and vegetables gives gardeners a free source of nutrient-rich soil for their gardens.

The workshops are scheduled for Oct. 26 and Nov. 9 at the Chandler City Hall East Lobby Entrance – located at 175 S. Arizona Avenue – between 9 a.m. and noon both days. Enrollment is open to non-Chandler residents, although people who live in the city and receive city-provided refuse service are given priority.

To reserve a seat at one of the two sessions, contact the city by calling (480) 782-3510.
