Maricopa County Supervisor Andy Kunasek has been elected by his fellow supervisors chairman of the Board of Supervisors.
Supervisor Fulton Brock withdrew Tuesday as a contender for the leadership post to focus instead on family matters.
Brock filed for divorce from his wife, Susan, after she was accused of molesting a boy in Chandler.
Brock's 21-year-old daughter also was arrested on suspicion of sexual conduct with the same boy her mother is accused of sexually abusing.
The scandal forced him to rethink his decision to seek the chairmanship.
Kunasek, a member of the Board of Supervisors from Paradise Valley since September 1997, has previously served as the board's chairman three times.
