County plans mosquito action in Chandler, Gilbert, Tempe

The Maricopa County Department of Environmental Services will conduct mosquito spraying midnight Thursday to 5 a.m. Friday in Chandler, Gilbert and Tempe.

The area in Chandler is from Queen Creek to Ocotillo roads and from Gilbert to Lindsay roads.

The first area in Gilbert is from Ocotillo to Chandler Heights roads and from Recker to Power roads. The second area in Gilbert is from Lindsay Road to Val Vista Drive and from Ray to Williams Field roads. This is a rescheduled spraying. The third area in Gilbert is from Lindsay Road to Val Vista Drive and from Williams Field Road to Pecos Road/Drivers Way. This is a rescheduled spraying.

The first area in Tempe is from Pecos to Germann roads and from Greenfield to Higley roads. The second area in Tempe is from Southern Avenue to Baseline Road and from Kyrene Road to Priest Drive. Both are rescheduled sprayings.

Mosquito spraying is conducted when local area traps have a high number of mosquitoes or if those mosquitoes test positive for West Nile virus.
