As February Frenzy fades away — given all the drama, controversy and action we’ve seen it’ll take awhile — and March moves in, the spring sports have begun.

That means the regular gentle reminder returns for baseball, softball, boys volleyball and tennis coaches in the East Valley who already (or will very soon) receive preseason surveys from Varsity Xtra to fill them out and send back ASAP.

The goal is to have them completed and ready to roll in the next couple weeks. Yes, it’s perpetually behind the curve since the season(s) already started, but better late than never. Or so we hope.

As for the winter sports, all varsity soccer coaches should have received requests to submit their player nominations and stats/accolades/awards for All-Tribune teams. If not, send them to me at mheller@evtrib.com (player's name, position, year in school, any additional info. you want to include).

Basketball coaches will receive nomination information via email this coming week.

The goal for All-Tribune from the winter sports also equates to the next few weeks as well, though it might take a bit longer to get spring previews published first.

Any All-Section and All-Division teams for all winter sports should be sent to us at varsity@evtrib.com.

Any questions or issues please let me know. The February Frenzy might be finished, but its effects are long-lasting.
