Banner Health will offer a mobile heath unit, which will travel to area schools to treat uninsured or underinsured children up to 21-years-old, beginning Jan. 14.

The Healthmobile will operate like a mobile doctor’s office, offering children treatment for health problems, physicals for sports or camps and routine annual checkups.

In the East Valley, the Banner Children’s Healthmobile will be available Thursdays at Banner Ironwood Medical Center, 37000 N. Gantzel Rd., San Tan Valley. Also throughout the Valley, there will be asthma-specific outreach, education and treatment on Tuesdays beginning in February. Dates and times will be announced at area schools weekly.

The operating cost of the mobile clinic and school-based centers are covered solely through philanthropic support from individuals, corporations and foundations in the community.

Walk-ins are accepted at the mobile clinic, but reservations are preferred. To make a reservation, call 480-412-6344.
