Tempe police arrested a 49-year-old man Monday night in connection with the death of a 27-year-old female on Saturday.

Wade Eugene Bradford was arrested at 8:45 p.m. at Oregano's restaurant, 523 W. University Drive, Tempe.

According to police, on 9:20 p.m. Saturday, Natalie Allan arrived at Bradford's residence in the 700 block of South Beck Avenue in Tempe to pick up some of her belongings when she was confronted by Bradford who shot her once with a handgun. Allan was pronounced dead at the scene. Bradford and Allan had dated for some time and were separating, police said.

Police came to the restaurant Monday night after an employee recognized Bradford from media reports.

Bradford was booked into Tempe City Jail and is facing a first-degree murder charge.
