A balloon pilot suffered a broken leg Monday evening after the aircraft made a hard landing in north Phoenix.
Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Ian Gregor said the hot air balloon made a hard landing five miles north of Deer Valley Airport at 6 p.m. Monday.
The pilot was partly ejected from the balloon and suffered a broken leg.
The balloon was carrying two adults and three children.
One child suffered a minor injury.
Gregor said the FAA will investigate.
