A preschool at the East Valley Jewish Community Center, 908 N. Alma School Road, was evacuated Wednesday afternoon by Chandler police due to a suspicious package.

But the package delivered to the center turned out to be a harmless serving platter.

Chandler police Det. Seth Tyler said when police arrived they sent in a bomb-sniffing canine, which determined there was not a bomb. A robot was then sent in to open the package and inside, the serving platter was discovered, Tyler said.
