Tempe will swear in Mayor-elect Mark Mitchell and three councilmen in a ceremony on July 2 that will be followed by a reception. Mitchell is a 12-year veteran of the City Council who won a narrow election bid against restaurant owner Michael Monti.
Also on July 2, Tempe will swear in Vice Mayor Joel Navarro and Councilman Corey Woods to their second terms. Kolby Granville will be sworn in to his first term.
The ceremony will be conducted by City Clerk Brigitta Kuiper as part of a City Council meeting that begins at 7:30 p.m. at the City Council Chambers, 31 E. Fifth St. The public is welcome to attend a reception that follows the ceremony. The meeting will be the last one for Mayor Hugh Hallman, who did not seek a third term.

@Juggernaut: If that's the depth of your perception regarding the mayor elect, then you have some serious shortcomings regarding the effort it takes to manage and operate a city as complex as Tempe. BTW, most people, in fact, call it the Tempe Town Lake.
