Gilbert mayoral race a rematch of 2009

  Steve Berman's entire re-election campaign boils down to just a few key points:

  1) He hopes that enough new people have moved here since the last election that are unaware of his past personal history (and his ego and temper) and that those folks will all read his misleading signs and all vote Berman.

  2) He hopes that all of the former county islanders that were forced to annex into Gilbert will forgive (or forget) his "annex or burn" policy.

  3) He hopes that folks forget his various questionable "gifts" to him while Mayor (and his votes on their behalf later). Remember the taxpayer gifts to those car dealerships, Steve?

  4) He hopes that newcomers to Gilbert will actually believe that Steve Berman (by himself) built a better Gilbert (as if he and he alone not only voted for the project, but spent his own money and sweat building it), when in reality the Mayor and Town Council members simply react after a particular developer alerts them of an interest in building nearby.

  5) He really hopes that he can fix the blame of the Big League Dreams vastly overpriced ball park (last we heard $42 million and counting) on everybody else but him (funny how he wants everything else built in Gilbert to only count under his column, but not the taxpayer funded for the next 100 plus years ballpark).

  6) He hopes newcomers to Gilbert either forget or never see his ABC15 interview where he breaks the expensive camera and storms off in a huff when the cameraman simply asks him a question he doesn't like about the cost of the ball park.

  7) He really hopes that female voters don't remember his multiple issues with his various wives and/or girlfriends. After watching his major blow-up on Channel 15 and then reading about his past accusations you might conclude that where there's smoke....

  
  I don't know Mayor Lewis or any member of his family, nor do I attend his church, but do we really want another round with Steve Berman and that ego?
