Mesa police think same suspect responsible for multiple business robberies

The Mesa Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in identifying a suspect officers believe is linked to a pair of armed robberies at Mesa businesses.

On Thursday, an armed suspect entered the Pizza Hut at 9053 E. Baseline Road and demanded money from the cashier before fleeing with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Then, on Sunday, a suspect who fit a similar description robbed the Subway sandwich shop at 1923 S. Signal Butte Road. The robber pointed a handgun at the clerk and demanded cash before leaving the restaurant.

Witnesses from both robberies described the suspect as a white male, about 50 to 60 years old with a heavy build, gray hair, gray beard, wearing a dark T-shirt.

Witnesses from the Pizza Hut robbery reported seeing an older model white truck with a tinted rear window. A black handgun was used by the suspect in both robberies.
