The Queen Creek Town Council honored 13 residents for graduating from the Community Emergency Response Team program this month.

Emergency program graduates honored

The Queen Creek Town Council honored 13 residents for graduating from the Community Emergency Response Team program this month.

Graduates are qualified to help public safety personnel in responding to local accidents, natural disasters and rescues.

This group was the eighth class to graduate from the program.

The town is accepting applications for the next training session on Tuesday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Sept. 2 through Oct. 14.

Class sizes are limited to 25 participants. Anyone is welcome to apply, however town residents will be given priority.

Scottsdale hiring lifeguards

The city is currently hiring recreation leaders and lifeguards. Starting pay is between $8.85 and $12.81 per hour for recreation leaders, and $9.77 per hour for lifeguards.
