Mesa City Council

When: 5:45 p.m. Monday

Where: 57 E. First St.

Agenda highlights: The City Council will vote on agreements with the Chicago Cubs to keep the team in Mesa for 30 years with a new spring training complex.

Mesa Unified School District governing board

When: 6 p.m. Tuesday

Where: Brimhall Junior High School, 4949 E. Southern Ave., Mesa

Agenda highlights: The governing board will host the second of two public forums about plans to consolidate and close campuses in the district beginning next school year. The governing board is considering a proposal to close Brimhall Junior High School as a neighborhood campus and move three Franklin, back-to-basics schools (Franklin Northeast, Franklin South and Franklin Junior High School) to the Brimhall campus. The board is also considering closing Mesa Junior High School.

Tempe Elementary School District governing board

When: 7 p.m. Wednesday

Where: Sanchez Administration Center, 3205 S. Rural Road

Agenda highlights: The governing board is scheduled to discuss repurposing plans for schools that were closed earlier this year. Only one plan — for McKemy Middle School — moved on to the next stage from those proposed by the community.

Gilbert Town Council

When: 7 p.m. Thursday

Where: 50 E. Civic Center Dr.

Agenda highlights: The Town Council will consider a $100,000 consulting contract to evaluate and prioritize future improvements at 70 intersections in the town.
