Pinal County will observe National Crime Victims’ Rights Week beginning on Monday.

County residents are invited to join local officials for the kick-off in Florence at 8:30 a.m. in front of the Pinal County Superior Court complex, 971 N. Jason Lopez Circle. The week of events will conclude April 24.

All states and the federal government have victims’ rights laws and 33 states, including Arizona, have constitutional amendments to protect victims’ rights. The federal “Justice for All Act” of 2004 and specific state laws also protect victims.

This year’s theme for the week of events if “Fairness, Dignity and Respect.”

“My office and our community will stand in support of those harmed by crime,” said Pinal County Attorney James Walsh.
