Three East Valley cities were part of Arizona’s strong showing on Parents magazine’s 100 best cities for babies.
Mesa is ranked 11th, Gilbert 14th and Chandler 17th. Scottsdale was ranked first, Phoenix seventh, Glendale 25th and Tucson 30th.
The list rates cities and towns based on such criteria as family safety, parks and recreation, health care and value for the tax dollar.
The rest of the top 10: Fort Wayne, Ind.; Lincoln, Neb.; Pittsburgh; Portland, Ore.; Madison, Wis.; St. Paul, Minn.; Oklahoma City and Boston.
