Former Tempe Mayor Neil Giuliano will be the guest speaker at a Tempe Historical Society luncheon on Jan. 11.

The talk will begin at 11:30 a.m. at the historical society’s museum, 809 E. Southern Ave.

Giuliano, who now is the CEO of the San Francisco AIDS Foundation, will provide details on the creation of Tempe Town Lake, a popular tourist destination in the state.

Giuliano’s talk, “It’s Not about the Lake — Reflections on Bridging to the Future,” will be about the city’s efforts to improve a portion along the Salt River bed.

Coffee will be provided.
