Former U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor will speak in Mesa on Friday to dedicate a new municipal court.
O’Connor will make remarks at 10 a.m., joined by Arizona Supreme Court Justice W. Scott Bales and several elected officials from Mesa. The 97,000-square-foot Mesa Municipal Court is at 250 E. 1st Avenue.
O’Connor, who became the first woman on the Supreme Court in 1981, retired in 2006. She is an Arizona native and Valley resident.
